March 8, 2021, is International Women’s Day. The theme for this day is Women in Leadership: Achieving an equal world after COVID 19. This theme celebrates women and girls’ tremendous efforts worldwide in shaping a similar future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. This day can provide women and girls with the opportunity to remind the world of the importance of women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life and the elimination of violence for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
Many women stand at the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis, working as health care workers, caregivers, innovators, community organizers and some as national leaders in combating the pandemic. The pandemic has highlighted these contributions and the disproportionate burdens that women carry.
Make March 8th a day to celebrate women’s achievements and bring awareness about women’s equality.
